PRESCHOOL

Using the Creative Curriculum Program as the foundation, we promote learning through exploration, play and interaction, focusing on the socio-emotional, cognitive and physical development of our students.

Our curriculum is based on international standards and programs, such as the Core Knowledge and the International Baccalaureate.

We motivate students to work collaboratively with their peers, developing empathy and understanding of the cultural and social diversity that surrounds them.

  • Our Nursery program implements the Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies to provide a dynamic learning environment for children at this critical stage. This research-based approach fosters curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning, laying a strong foundation for academic success. Our dedicated teachers create personalized experiences tailored to each child's interests, strengths, and needs, encouraging independence and confidence.

The Creative Curriculum emphasizes holistic development, including social-emotional growth and physical well-being, preparing children for the next stage of their educational journey.

Our International Baccalaureate program guarantees world-class academic standards. We empower students to become conscious and respectful citizens of the world. We encourage skills development, problem solving, critical thinking and collaborative work from an early age.

As educators, we guide students aged 3 to 12 through the Program of Inquiry (POI), exploring real-world issues across six transdisciplinary themes. Through our curriculum, we cultivate curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity, nurturing globally minded lifelong learners.

  • The Program of Inquiry (POI) within the Primary Years Programme (PYP) is a structured framework aimed at fostering inquiry-based learning for students aged 3 to 12. It revolves around six transdisciplinary themes, such as Who We Are, Where We Are in Place and Time, and How We Express Ourselves. These themes provide a holistic approach to curriculum planning, enabling students to make connections across various subject areas while exploring real-world issues and concepts.

Each transdisciplinary theme in the Program of Inquiry is further developed through specific units of inquiry designed to engage students in meaningful exploration and reflection. These units encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity as students investigate diverse topics, ask questions, and seek answers. By guiding students through inquiry-based learning experiences, the POI aims to develop lifelong learners who are globally minded, equipped with essential skills and attitudes to understand complex issues, appreciate diverse perspectives, and take responsible action in their communities and beyond.

Our learning environments go beyond the classroom and provide students with access to facilities such as science lab, design lab, audiovisual production lab, kitchen garden for practical learning, well-equipped library and a vibrant art center. These spaces are designed to stimulate creativity, curiosity and exploration.

To address the unique learning needs of our students, we administer internationally recognized tools such as Measurements of Academic Progress (MAP), which ensure a targeted approach to logical-mathematical reasoning and language development, helping each student reach their full potential.

  • The NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessment is a dynamic tool utilized by Liceo de Apodaca to gauge the academic growth and proficiency of our students. This computer-adaptive test offers a personalized evaluation of students' knowledge and skills in core subjects such as math, reading, and language usage. By adjusting the difficulty of questions based on individual responses, the MAP assessment provides a precise measure of each student's academic abilities, offering insights into their strengths and areas for improvement.

At our school, the NWEA MAP assessment serves as a cornerstone in our commitment to differentiated learning. Assessments are administered three times during the school year so that we can tailor instruction to meet the specific needs of each student, ensuring they receive appropriate support and challenges to foster their academic growth. This personalized approach not only empowers students to reach their full potential but also promotes a positive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported on their educational journey.

Furthermore, the data obtained from the NWEA MAP assessment informs our instructional decisions, curriculum planning, and resource allocation. By analyzing student performance over time, we can identify trends, set realistic goals, and implement targeted interventions to enhance student learning outcomes.
